“Our Beloved Summer” star Roh Jeong Eui becomes a hot topic, top candidate for “Princess Hours” remake

Actress Roh Jeong Eui draws attention for comic-like visuals as she wears a hanbok and traditional Korean hairstyle

Recently, in an advertisement for a securities company, actress Roh Jeong Eui, who starred in “Our Beloved Summer” and “18 Again”, became the talk of town as she donned a traditional hanbok, hairstyle, and head garnish.

The actress also posted a selfie taken in the same outfit on her Instagram story.

Many netizens who saw this appearance responded enthusiastically and started to compare Roh Jeong Eui to Shin Chae Kyung – the female lead of famous comic “Goong” and its K-drama adaptation “Princess Hours”, which is set in a fiction version of Korea with a modern monarchy.

In particular, they pointed out Roh Jeong Eui’s large and deep eyes, fair skin, and sharp jawline, which highly resembles Shin Chae Kyung in the original comic. The actress also exuded an elegant and mysterious atmosphere, perfectly looking like a princess in her regal hanbok.

The comic “Goong” was adapted into a K-drama titled “Princess Hours” by MBC in 2006, which received ample love, and a remake of this drama was confirmed in March last year.

At this new photo of Roh Jeong Eui, netizens are recommending the actress for this remake, writing comments like “I wish Roh Jeong Eui would play Shin Chae Kyung”, “You look perfect for ‘Princess Hours’”, and “Hanbok suits you really well”.

As of the moment, the casting status for “Princess Hours” remake and its specific airing date have yet to be revealed.

When “Princess Hours” aired in 2006, it attained unimaginable popularity with average viewership rating exceeding 26% (according to Nielsen Korea). This romance-comedy drama follows the female lead Shin Chae Kyung (Yoon Eun Hye), who grew up in an ordinary family but ended up marrying Crown Prince Lee Shin (Joo Ji Hoo) and becoming the Crown Princess overnight due to an old promise.
