At the end of 2022, singer IU delivered news that fans might be very happy to hear about.
On Dec 29th, IU‘s official YouTube channel uploaded a video showing IU taking a photoshoot to be used for her 2023 Season’s Greeting.
During the photoshoot, her staff said, “You said you would take it easy when you turn 30,” and IU said, “But I think like this. If I have no album activity and no album preparation, it means I can rest. So this year was a sabbatical for me.”
When the staff said, “You only had two concerts this year,” IU said, “That’s right. I will do my earnest next year,” signaling a more active year of 2023.
Under the video, many netizens commented, “Is this a declaration of war? Please give me just one seat,” “Can I look forward to a national tour again next year?” “I’m looking forward to her new album,” and “Let’s go around Korea twice.”
Meanwhile, IU has had a successful year in 2022. She attended the 35th Cannes International Film Festival and the 36th Golden Disc Awards Digital Music Awards, held a solo concert at the Seoul Olympic Main Stadium as the first female artist to do so, and won the 42nd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards.
