The late Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in a car near Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of Dec 27th. He was 48 years old.
The deceased was previously booked on charges of marijuana and psychotropic drugs under the Narcotics Control Act and had been under police investigation. According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s drug crime investigation unit, Lee Sun-kyun was accused of taking various drugs, including marijuana, at the residence of A, the head of an adult entertainment establishment, since earlier this year.
The police received intelligence in September that drugs were being distributed at an adult entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul, and suspected Lee Sun-kyun’s drug use during the investigation process. Accordingly, Lee Sun-kyun sued A on charges of blackmail and threats. It is known that he gave about 300 million won to A.
With the death of Lee Sun-kyun, it is expected that the police’s drug investigation will be concluded as having no legal basis.
