No:ze, indirect return after advertisement power abuse controversy as Taeyang’s backup dancer

Choreographer No:ze succeeded in returning to stage as singer Taeyang’s backup dancer. It has been about 9 months since the controversy over advertisement power abuse.

No:ze stood on stage as Taeyang’s backup dancer on the April 30th broadcast of SBS’ “Inkigayo”.

On this day’s “Inkigayo”, Taeyang performed the title track “Seed” and the song “Shoong! (feat. LISA of BLACKPINK) of his new EP album “Down to Earth”.

First, Taeyang showed a presence that filled the stage by himself. Following Taeyang’s performance, backup dancers joined one after another. Lee Jung and No:ze, who participated in “Street Woman Fighter“, stood out.

No:ze hinted at her return by appearing as a backup dancer in the performance music video for “Shoong!”. BLACKPINK Lisa could not stand on stage with Taeyang due to her schedule, but the dancers who appeared in the performance music video had the possibility to stand on stage together, so No:ze’s return was foretold.

It is the first time in about 9 months that No:ze has appeared on a broadcast since the controversy over SNS advertisement power abuse. In July 2022, No:ze was embroiled in allegations of power abuse in her SNS advertising deals. According to some officials from small and medium-sized businesses, she received tens of millions won to upload advertising posts onto her SNS, but she did not properly fulfill her job.

The agency apologized, “We failed to keep the contract period promised in advance with the advertising companies due to our carelessness. In addition, the fact that posts were not uploaded before the deadlines or deleted was due to our lack of communication with the artist. We apologize for causing inconvenience and disappointment to advertisement companies and fans who support No:ze.

Afterwards, No:ze, who had time for self-reflection, had a conflict with the agency over settlement and exclusive contract. The conflict was later resolved smoothly.

No:ze, who was in her heyday after “Street Woman Fighter”, cooled down due to the controversy over power abuse. After about 9 months of self-reflection, No:ze succeeded in making an indirect return to stage as a dancer.
