Park Min-young, the lead actress of “Marry My Husband”, faced dating rumors with Kang in 2022. At that time, Park Min-young’s side said, “It’s true that they were in a relationship, but they broke up. Park Min-young didn’t receive any financial support from Mr. Kang.” Kang was arrested and indicted on charges of embezzling about 62.8 billion won from Bithumb’s affiliate, but was recently released on bail and is undergoing trial.

However, on Jan 15th, the entertainment media outlet Dispatch reported that Park Min-young received a large living expense from Kang during their relationship. In response, Park Min-young’s side explained, “Actress Park Min-young was investigated by the prosecution as a reference to Kang Jong-hyun’s use of Park Min-young’s account as a borrowed name around February 2023, and through this, it made it clear that actress Park Min-young did not participate in or benefit from illegal work. The 250 million won mentioned in the article was used by Mr. Kang Jong-hyun, and it was not used for Park Min-young’s living expenses. Park Min-young has been misunderstood due to untrue information for over a year.

Park Min-young herself expressed her frustration on her SNS, “Sick of it all. But I believe that the truth will ultimately prevail, and now I have enough strength to protect Beans (fandom name). Don’t worry.”
