On July 25, Nicholas Tse held a concert as part of his Evolution Nic Live tour in Qingdao, China. It marked the singer’s first public stage appearance since his father, veteran actor Patrick Tse, passed away on July 16 at the age of 89.
Ahead of the concert, Nicholas Tse shared several rehearsal photos on social media and confirmed that the show would proceed as scheduled. Dressed in black, the singer appeared determined to complete the performance despite still mourning the loss of his father.

Heavy rain hit Qingdao just hours before the concert began. Fortunately, the weather cleared by the time the show started. Nicholas Tse told the audience they were lucky that the conditions had improved and thanked everyone for bringing such positive energy to the venue.
After addressing the crowd, the singer looked up at the night sky and gently waved his hand. Many audience members interpreted the gesture as a silent message to his late father.

Nicholas Tse’s emotions became even more apparent while performing the song Thank You for Your Love 1999. As he reached the lyrics about saying goodbye, his voice trembled, his eyes filled with tears, and he struggled to maintain his composure while continuing the performance.
During another song, Amusement Park, Nicholas Tse remained solemn for most of the performance. At one point, he turned away from the audience and quietly wiped away tears. The touching moment was captured by concertgoers and quickly spread across social media, where many fans expressed their support and encouragement.

Despite suffering such a profound personal loss, Nicholas Tse chose not to cancel the concert. He completed the entire show as planned, receiving heartfelt applause and support from the audience throughout the night.
Patrick Tse was one of Hong Kong’s most iconic film and television stars. He passed away due to illness on July 16. After receiving the news, Nicholas Tse returned to Hong Kong to be with his family and help arrange the funeral before resuming his concert schedule.
