NewJeans Minji slept for 15 hours, easing fans’ worries about heavy schedule 

The “15-hour sleep” of NewJeans Minji has become a viral topic among netizens.

On July 7th, NewJeans released their new song “Super Shy”, a pre-release track from their upcoming 2nd mini-album “Get Up”, which will be officially released on the 21st. Ever since, “Super Shy” has been sweeping domestic and international charts.

While NewJeans is actively promoting “Super Shy” on music shows, it was recently revealed through the fan communication app “Phoning” that a member, Minji, slept for 15 hours, drawing attention. Minji also added, “If you don’t wake me up, I’ll sleep really well, and even if you wake me up, I won’t get angry.”

Given various recent instances of famous idols declaring activity suspensions due to health issues, fans were particularly concerned about Minji’s well-being, so her confession of a “15-hour sleep” has given them a peace of mind.

One fan mentioned that after the release of “Super Shy”, NewJeans members have been managing a relatively relaxed schedule for about a week before their comeback, including getting enough sleep and communicating with fans.

As many Kpop idols have tight schedules and often find it difficult to get enough rest or sleep, NewJeans’ relaxed schedules are appreciated by many. 

Netizens responded with comments like, “It’s a relief to see members sleeping well while promoting,” “Seems like their agency takes good care of them,” and “It’s possible because they’re NewJeans.”

On the other hand, according to the Billboard charts on July 18th, NewJeans’ “Super Shy” climbed to 66th place on the Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart. With “Super Shy”, NewJeans has achieved their highest-ranking on “Hot 100”, surpassing “OMG” and “Ditto”.
