“D.P. 2” director Han Joon Hee spoke up regarding the opinion that “D.P.” content is related to a specific organization or group.

Based on the webtoon “D.P Dog’s Day”, Netflix’s “D.P.” tells the journey of D.P (Deserter Pursuit) members catching those who escape from the military. Season 1, which was released in August 2021, gained huge popularity by presenting the chase of deserters and various stories that take place in the military environment.

While many viewers complimented “D.P.” for realistically reflecting the cruel harassment and sexual violence in the military, former Minister of National Defense Seo Wook refuted it, saying “Some parts in the drama had definitely been exaggerated. It’s different from the current reality in the army”, emphasizing the social impact of the drama.

In this regard, Director Han Joon Hee said, “I didn’t expect Season 1 to be this impactful. In Season 1 or even Season 2, our intention is to raise questions for discussions rather than provide an answer”, adding “I think that is the right attitude and approach for a director and a person who makes series”.

He continued, “Season 2 does not focus on any specific organization or group. Instead, it tells stories that observe the sad times of individuals”, adding “I want to let viewers see how these individuals go through their sad times and reach their own conclusions.”

Meanwhile, “D.P. 2” continues to depict D.P team members Jun Ho (Jung Hae In) and Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan) facing the unchanged reality and absurdity in the military. This six-episode series will premiere on Netflix on July 28th.
