On January 11, NCT’s agency, SM Entertainment, released an official statement saying, “We confirmed that Haechan used an e-cigarette indoors in the NCT 127 dance practice content released on the 10th”.
It was also revealed in the statement that SM and Haechan plan to pay the fine for indoor smoking at the local public health center within the day.
“We deeply apologize for causing concern to many people due to careless behavior”, SM also said, adding, “We will pay special attention to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.”
Meanwhile, NCT’s Haechan’s indoor smoking behavior was captured in the behind-the-scenes of a dance practice video posted on NCT’s official YouTube channel on January 10.
Netizens quickly noticed this action, so even though the footage was later removed, it was reposted through various SNS platforms and online communities, with some people even filing complaints against Haechan for indoor smoking.
