The photo book, titled “NANA (ナナ)” , was created in collaboration with renowned Japanese photographer Hajime Sawatari, known for his lifelong focus on capturing female subjects with depth and individuality.
According to Seeth Anarchy Library, which recently spotlighted the collection, Nana traveled to Tokyo despite her busy schedule and completed the shoot over two days across various locations in the city. The result is a series of images that emphasize both intensity and spontaneity.

The project has sparked buzz for its daring visual approach, including unconventional styling choices that might typically be seen as provocative. However, Nana’s distinct aura and confidence elevate these elements into something more artistic than sensational. Rather than focusing on exposure itself, the photobook highlights mood, composition, and emotional expression, allowing Nana to fully embody the role of a muse.
Since her debut as a member of After School, Nana has continuously evolved her image, transitioning successfully into acting while maintaining her status as a fashion and beauty icon. This latest project further expands her artistic range, showcasing a side that is both bold and sophisticated.

Alongside the photo book’s growing attention, Nana is currently appearing in the ENA drama Climax , where she plays the role of Hwang Jung-won. With this project, Nana once again demonstrates her versatility, balancing mainstream acting roles with experimental artistic endeavors and reinforcing her position as one of Korea’s most distinctive visual icons.
