Namkoong Min’s next work is ‘Our Movie’ “A director who falls in love with a terminally ill actress”
Actor Namkoong Min has decided on his next project
According to Star News on July 2nd, Namkoong Min has confirmed his appearance in tvN’s new drama “Our Movie” (tentative title).
“Our Movie” tells the story of a film director, who is trapped by the sophomore jinx and lives without a future, and a terminally ill actress who, nearing the end of life, finally decides to live as the protagonist of her own life.
Namkoong Min will play the role of Lee Je-ha, a film director who decides to make a movie featuring a real terminally ill patient as the main character. Lee Je-ha, who made his commercial film debut with a self-written script and swept the film festivals that year, earned the tagline “Genre is Lee Je-ha”. However, he is now living a barren and mundane life without a next project.
The drama will be directed by Lee Jung-heum, who previously worked on JTBC’s “Inspector Koo”, SBS’s “Nobody Knows”, “Falsify” and “I’ve Got My Eye on You”. The script is written by writers Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, with production by Beyond J.
Namkoong Min solidified his status as a “melodrama master” with MBC’s “My Dearest”, which concluded in November last year. He won the Grand Prize at the MBC Drama Awards and the Best Actor – Television award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards for his performance in “My Dearest”.
Known for ensuring both ratings and buzz with every project he participates in, Namkoong Min is expected to deliver a heart-wrenching melodrama that will touch viewers’ hearts in “Our Movie”.
