Singer Nam Taehyun (29), who is about to face trial for the methamphetamine administration case, additionally revealed his recent status
Nam Tae Hyun recently posted a video titled “‘I’m Nam Tae Hyun’ Second Story” on his YouTube channel “Channel Nam Tae Hyun”. Earlier on Sep 1st, Nam Tae Hyun released a video titled “‘I’m Nam Tae Hyun’ First Story” and revealed his recent status and feelings after the methamphetamine administration incident.
In the video this time, Nam Tae Hyun said, “I’m Nam Tae Hyun. I’m a singer. However, before that, I lost my character, indulged in severe female issues, and even touched alcohol and drugs.”
Nam Tae Hyun continued, “Even when I look at myself, I don’t like what I see. It’s painful to live as such a person. I don’t make any excuses. I’m sorry to my fans who believed in me, to everyone who has a connection with me, and to all those who have been harmed because of me. I’m sorry to even you who are watching this video with a frown.” He also added, “Mom, I’m sorry.”
Seemingly aware of public criticism, Nam Tae Hyun acknowledged, “What you all say is right. No one threatened me to live like this, acting so recklessly. Everything was my choice, and I am still alive to take responsibility for my choices.“
Nam Tae Hyun revealed that he had contemplated extreme measures, saying, “But isn’t that cowardly? If I die, will those who have been hurt by me forgive me? Will it all be forgotten? Probably not. So, I made a choice. To become a different person.“
He went on to say, “For now, I will try my best and reflect on myself while living, and to prevent young sprouts from living like me, to help all those struggling in this harsh world not make the same choices, I will do everything I can. If that doesn’t work out, it won’t be too late to die then.“
Nam Tae Hyun also shared that he is currently at a rehabilitation center called DARC to quit drugs. He explained, “Here, they say you have to become a person first if you want to quit drugs. To elaborate a bit, it’s like this: I took drugs because everything about the way I lived, my attitude, and my way of thinking already led me to become someone who could only turn to drugs.”
He added, “Here, I am learning a lot, reflecting constantly, and becoming a person little by little, slowly but surely. I’m Nam Tae Hyun. I will become a person.”
Meanwhile, on Aug 31st, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office’s Criminal Division 3 indicted Nam Tae Hyun and broadcaster Seo Min Jae (30) without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae are accused of purchasing and using methamphetamine. In August last year, Seo Min Jae caused a controversy by suddenly uploading posts like “Nam Tae Hyun takes methamphetamine“. Following police reports, the police initiated an investigation and subsequently transferred the case to the prosecution last June. Nam Tae Hyun’s first trial is scheduled for Oct 19th.
