On March 12, the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Division 11 held the second trial for Nam Tae Hyun, who is accused of violating the Road Traffic Act. During the hearing, prosecutors demanded a sentence of one year and six months in prison along with a fine of 1 million won.
The prosecution stated that the nature of the crime was serious due to several factors, including the fact that it was a repeat offense, the high blood alcohol concentration, and that the crime occurred while the defendant was already serving a suspended sentence.
Nam Tae Hyun is accused of driving under the influence at around 4:10 a.m. on April 27, 2025, near Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro highway in Seoul, heading toward Ilsan. His blood alcohol concentration at the time was reportedly 0.122%, far exceeding the license revocation standard of 0.08%.

Investigations found that Nam Tae Hyun was driving at 182 km/h in a zone with a speed limit of 80 km/h when he crashed into a central divider. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
This marks the second drunk driving offense for Nam Tae Hyun. In March 2023, while under investigation for a drug-related case, he caused a traffic accident while intoxicated and received a summary order to pay a fine of 6 million won.
Additionally, in January last year, he was indicted alongside his former girlfriend Seo Min Jae for violating the Narcotics Control Act and was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
