“Remember” (directed by Il-hyung/ distributed by Ace Maker Movie Works/ produced by Moonlight Films) depicts the story of Pil-joo, an Alzheimer’s patient, who has been searching for the group of pro-Japanese who murdered his family and planning revenge for 60 years, and his close friend In-gyu, a man in his 20s who unintentionally gets caught up in Pil-joo’s revenge. Nam Joo-hyuk, who has proved his extraordinary presence by playing various young characters in works of different genres, such as “The Great Battle”, “The Light in Your Eyes”, “Start-Up”, and “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”, will show a new aspect of a young man in his 20s when portraying In-gyu of “Remember”.

The character In-gyu played by Nam Joo-hyuk is an ordinary young man in his 20s who works at a family restaurant together with Pil-joo (Lee Sung-min), a reserved old man in his 80s, and unintentionally gets caught up in the revenge planned by Pil-joo. In-gyu, who accepted Pil-joo’s offer of paying him as much as his income from the part-time job if he drove for him in just a week, becomes a suspect in the incident as he was accidentally seen at the scene through CCTV. As Pil-joo, who formed a close friendship across generations like Freddy and Jason with In-gyu at the family restaurant, is nowhere to be seen, In-gyu is left in confusion as incidents occur everywhere he drives.

Nam Joo-hyuk will be showing various emotional changes in three dimensions through the character In-gyu, who accompanies Pil-joo and understands his revenge journey better than anyone else. Portraying In-gyu’s appearance when he becomes deeply involved in Pil-joo’s revenge, such as constantly asking Pil-joo questions and trying to conciliate misunderstandings, Nam Joo-hyuk is expected to raise the viewers’ curiosity, tension, and empathy as well as increase their immersion in the story.

Nam Joo-hyuk shared, “Since it was a character I had never done before, I was attracted to it right away. The process of expressing various changes in the character’s emotions in unexpected situations was very interesting”, making fans look forward to his diverse emotional performances. Director Lee Il-hyung also commented, “He (Nam Joo-hyuk) expressed the ordinary young man in his 20s In-gyu in various ways and created an amazing friendship and ‘best friend’ chemistry between Pil-joo and In-gyu.”

Featuring the unique story of an Alzheimer’s patient seeking revenge for more than 60 years and Lee Sung-min and Nam Joo-hyuk’s chemistry beyond their generation gap, the movie “Remember” is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 26th.
