“My Mister” to have a Chinese remake? Rumored actors for the roles of IU and Lee Sun Gyun revealed

The news of a Chinese remake of tvN’s “My Mister” starring IU and Lee Sun Gyun, which aired in 2018, is drawing attention from netizens.

On January 16th, Korean netizens on various online communities shared posts saying that “My Mister” is being prepared for a remake in China. Actress Shen Yue and actor Chen Jianbin are known to be considering to take the lead roles. 

In fact, news of the Chinese remake of “My Mister” was first posted on Weibo and the Chinese portal SOHU in November of last year. Shen Yue was reportedly offered to play the main character Lee Ji An at the time. But she denied the news.

The news of “My Mister” Chinese remake has recently attracted attention from Korean netizens all of a sudden, but it already surfaced in China last year. 

tvN’s drama’s “My Mister” premiered in 2018. Lee Sun Gyun, IU, Go Doo Shim, Park Ho San, Song Sae Byuk, Jang Ki Yong, and Kwon Na Ra appeared. The drama recorded the highest nationwide viewership rating of 7.352% (according to Nielsen Korea).

In addition, she won the TV Drama and Screenplay Award at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards, and the lead actress IU won the Best Actress Award at the 6th Asia Pacific Star Awards, the 3rd Asia Artist Awards, the Asian Hottest, Star Pay Popularity Award, and the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Meanwhile, Shen Yue was born in 1997 and debuted in 2017. She made her face known to domestic netizens with works such as Netflix’s “Meteor Garden” and “A Love So Beautiful.”

Shen Yue is also known to be interested in Korea by posting vlogs to learn Korean.

Jin Geon-bin, who was mentioned as the male lead, was born in 1970 and left a strong impression on domestic netizens by playing the role of Jojo in New Three Kingdoms, which was broadcast on CCTV in 2010.
