“My Liberation Notes” ratings soared to a personal best as Kim Ji Won and Son Seok Koo met again

“My Liberation Notes” ratings exceeded 6% for the first time last weekend.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 14 of “My Liberation Notes” broadcast on May 22nd hit an average nationwide rating of 6.1% and surpassed 6.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area. 

This is the highest ratings the drama has recorded since its premiere in early April. “My Liberation Notes” has been receiving more and more love from viewers as the nationwide ratings have steadily risen throughout the drama’s run, from only 2.9% in episode 1, 3.9% in episode 6, 5% in episode 12, to exceed 6% for the first time in episode 14.

In episode 14, the Yeom family went through a difficult time after their mother Kwak Hye Sook (Lee Kyung Sung) passed away. The three siblings, Yeom Chang Hee (Lee Min Ki), Yeom Mi Jeong (Kim Ji Won), and Yeom Ki Jeong (Lee El), silently endured the sorrow of loss.

Yeom Mi Jeong and Mr. Gu (Son Seok Koo) also met again. Mr. Gu came back to Sanpo. He took courage and contacted Mi Jeong first, and the two finally reunited. They smiled broadly at each other. Mi Jeong asked Mr. Gu, “What’s your name?” as if they met for the first time, and he introduced himself, saying, “I’m Gu Ja Kyung”.

Through realistic footage with raw emotions, “My Liberation Notes” leaves a deep lingering impression and touches the hearts of viewers. The meeting between Mi Jeong and Mr. Gu has also raised expectations for the last two episodes. Heading into its final week of broadcast, the drama makes viewers wonder whether Mi Jeong and Mr. Gu will eventually be ‘liberated’ together.

Episode 15 of “My Liberation Notes” will air at 10:30 pm KST on May 28th.
