On September 7th, the musical “FRIDA” told Xports News that they had canceled an interview with actress Kim Hieora.
Kim Hieora is playing the role of Frida in the musical “FRIDA”, which is performed at Shinhan Card Artium COEX in Seoul.
Just before Kim Hieora’s school violence past was reported, “FRIDA” announced the schedule for Kim Hieora’s interview. However, they immediately canceled the interview after her scandal broke out.
Earlier on the 6th, Dispatch disclosed that Kim Hieora was a member of the iljin gang Big Sangji when she was in middle school. According to the report, the actress admitted to joining Big Sangji but denied the allegation of direct participation in school violence acts.
On the same day, Kim Hieora’s agency GRAM Entertainment released a statement clarifying false information. They revealed that Big Sangji was not an iljin gang but a group of ordinary students and that the informants already solved misunderstandings with Kim Hieora. The agency also announced legal action against malicious and defamation posts.
Kim Hieora also released her stance on SNS, saying “I did not maliciously, continuously, or intentionally torment the weak then continued living like a coward, as portrayed in the article.”
The actress then deleted the statement and made another post saying “I’m trying to face everything that is happening in an honest and calm way while making a sincere confession. Once again, I apologize to people who have supported and trusted me and those who have been hurt by me even at this moment.”
After the school violence controversy arose, netizens brought up Kim Hieora’s cancellation of Coupang Play’s “SNL Korea 3” filming, closure of her cafe shop, and withdrawal from “Jeong Nyeon” cast for re-examination.
