BTS Jungkook selected as the first Korean soloist to headline the US ‘Global Citizens Festival’
BTS’s Jungkook is set to perform in New York.
According to the Global Citizens official channel on September 6th (local time), BTS Jungkook will headline the ‘2023 Global Citizens Festival’ to be held in Central Park, New York on September 23rd.
The ‘Global Citizens Festival’ is a large-scale charity event organized by the international citizens’ movement organization ‘Global Citizens,’ held annually since 2012 as part of a movement to raise awareness about global issues such as extreme poverty, hunger, climate change, and more.
BTS previously appeared on the ‘2021 Global Citizens Live’ and performed ‘Permission to Dance’ and ‘Butter’.
Jungkook adorned the headline lineup alongside the US rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and pop star Lauryn Noelle Hill. This marks Jungkook’s first performance as a Korean solo artist at the ‘Global Citizens Festival.’
Jungkook expressed his excitement, “I’m really excited to be participating as a headliner at this year’s ‘Global Citizens Festival.’ I’m happy to be part of a festival that holds significant meaning.”
