“Mother of twins” top actress Lee Young-ae delivers good news again

Actress Lee Young-ae has begun her move in doing good deeds to help people who were affected by the localized torrential heavy rain.

On August 19th, The Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities announced that Lee Young-ae sent her supportive letters along with donations and household goods for people suffering from flood damages on August 18th.

Accordingly, Lee Young-ae delivered household goods and donations worth 50 million won to families with disabilities living in Chungcheong Province, especially Buyeo and Cheongyang, which have recently been damaged by torrential heavy rain. 

In her supportive letter, Lee Young-ae said, “Hello, I’m actress Lee Young-ae, a mother of twins. I want to convey my deep comfort to people who suffered great damage due to the torrential rain. My whole family will pray with our hands together so that the victims of heavy rain can cheer up and overcome this difficult time.”

She continued, “I couldn’t control my sad tears whenever I think of the news that the sudden downpour caused the life of families with disabled people in semi-basement single rooms”, adding “I should share the pain and comfort you all. Comforting you through writing like this, I feel very sorry”. She enclosed a check for 50 million won with her signature in the letter.

The donated money and household goods will be used to support families with disabled people in Chungcheong Province who are suffering from flood damages.

Lee Young-ae reportedly donated 100 million won to Ukraine in March. In the letter delivered together with her donation to Ukraine, the actress said, “Having a veteran who went through the war in my family, I could feel the horror of wars more than anyone else”. In fact, Lee Young-ae’s father was a veteran of the 625 war.

In addition, Lee Young-ae used to donate 100 million won to Severance Hospital in 2018, 100 million won to people in North Gyeongsang Province who suffered from the earthquake in 2017, and 50 million won to Daegu in February 2020 to fight against Covid-19.
