Mnet suspected of manipulating “Boys Planet” results, favoring Seok Mathew, and more: Fan demand clear explanation

Accusations of Mnet rigging the results in “Boys Planet” and excessively pushing trainee Seok Matthew continue to emerge, angering fans.

Mnet has once again been called out on alleged favoritism towards Seok Matthew’s screen time, suspected of manipulating the ranking results of the trainees’ individual focus cam for “Signal Song,” and the selection of “Shiny Boys” in the survival show “Boys Planet”.

Mnet has denied these allegations, but failed to provide evidence, leading fans to demand clear explanations and public access to data and the broadcast of the “Shiny Boys” selection process.

In addition, netizens have compiled data showing that in episode 10 of “Boys Planet”, Seok Matthew (a trainee under MNH Entertainment) was given 8 minutes and 11 seconds of screentime, significantly higher than any other trainee.

Trainees such as Wang Zihao and Zhang Shuaibo did not even have one second of screen time, and Hiroto had less than a second of screen time.

In total, in the two latest episodes 9 and 10, Seok Matthew had a total of 16 minutes and 36 seconds of screentime, even though he did not hold an important position in “Say My Name” team such as killing part or leader.

This is not the first time that Mnet and Seok Matthew have been caught up in similar scandals. From the beginning of the show, netizens paid special attention to Seok Matthew’s overwhelming screen time.

Recently, Mnet was accused of manipulating the ranking results for the signal song “Here I Am” for Seok Matthew. Seok Matthew’s fancam was allegedly ranked 35th, but Mnet pushed it up to 9th place and gave him special benefits in episode 1.

Mnet denied the allegations and claimed that the results were verified by Samil PwC, a well-known auditing company. However, Samil PwC has not responded, and Mnet has not presented any evidence to confirm their statement.

In addition, the “Shiny Boys” selection results were also suspected of being rigged. According to Mnet, the top 4 trainees chosen for “Shiny Boys” were Sung Hanbin, Ma Jingxiang, Kim Gyuvin, and Seok Matthew.

These four trainees appeared on the poster and were the first to be introduced. “Visual selection” by the trainees themselves is a “specialty” that appears in every Mnet’s survival show.

However, unlike other survival shows broadcasted by Mnet, the selection process for “Shiny Boys” was not broadcasted at all.
