On April 22, Mnet confirmed that its upcoming show Street World Fighter: Directors’ War will premiere in August.

The new program continues the legacy of the hit female dancer survival series Street Woman Fighter, while shifting the spotlight to “global performance directors” who design and create stages behind the scenes.

Going beyond choreography, the show will highlight experts responsible for stage composition, directing, and storytelling. Contestants will compete in what is described as a “creative war,” aiming to prove who can produce the most powerful and compelling performances.

A teaser video released a day earlier further raised anticipation, featuring iconic large-scale stages such as the MAMA Awards, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Notably, the show will introduce an “all-gender” format, breaking traditional boundaries of gender and dance genres, promising a more inclusive and dynamic competition.

Mnet producers shared, “As K-pop performances are now appreciated as standalone artistic works, we wanted to bring performance directors—who have long been behind the scenes—to the forefront. Viewers can expect a whole new level of stage experience.”
