According to the legal community on August 26, the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 3 (Judge Yoo Dong-gyun presiding) ordered one of three defendants to pay Min Hee-jin 300,000 won (approximately $220 USD) in damages, while dismissing claims against the other two.
The court ruled that a comment calling Min “a foul-mouthed thug” constituted “an insulting and derogatory personal attack,” thereby recognizing its illegality. However, other remarks such as “there are always these kinds of people in life” and “a fool is just a fool” were judged as insufficient to be considered violations of her personal rights.

Min had initially filed lawsuits against 11 malicious commenters after the surge of hate comments following her dispute with HYBE last year. She later withdrew some cases, continuing with lawsuits against three individuals.
Earlier in March, Min also partially won a similar lawsuit, with the court ordering certain commenters to compensate her between 50,000 and 100,000 won each.
Meanwhile, Min continues her legal battles against Belift Lab and Source Music. She was dismissed from her position as ADOR’s CEO in August last year, with ADOR recently appointing Vice President Lee Do-kyung as its new CEO.
