On August 25, the YouTube channel “Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup” featured Jung Sung-il and actress Cho Yeo-jeong, who both appeared as guests to promote their new film Murderer Report.
During the interview, Jung recalled how he was unexpectedly cast in Our Blues. He shared that he deeply admired actor Lee Byung-hun, who also starred in the series, and immediately accepted the offer without hesitation. “I didn’t even see the full script. I only received the parts where my character appeared, and when I found out one of my scenes was with Lee Byung-hun, I just said yes,” he explained.

However, the experience came with some funny backlash from his circle of friends. Jung confessed, “At that time, I really got cursed at a lot by my friends. They said, ‘Who do you think you are, yelling at Shin Min-ah just because she didn’t clean?’” He laughed while recalling the moment, adding that his friends were half-joking but genuinely protective of the actress.
MC Shin Dong-yup jokingly interjected, “They probably didn’t say it so nicely. I bet they called you, ‘You nice-looking bastard, how dare you yell at Min-ah!’” Jung agreed, laughing, “That’s exactly what happened. They all scolded me harshly.”

Cho Yeo-jeong, listening to his story, added with amusement, “It’s so funny how Sung-il adores Lee Byung-hun so much. He went and asked for his autograph on set.” Jung shyly admitted, “Yes, I brought his book with me and got him to sign it. My heart was racing the whole time.”
Although he received teasing from his friends, Jung Sung-il emphasized how grateful he felt for the opportunity to act alongside top stars like Lee Byung-hun and Shin Min-ah, calling it one of the most memorable experiences of his career.
