Military App The Camp Admits To Infringement Of BTS’s Portrait Rights

The Camp said on its official bulletin board on January 16th, “The inexperience of The Camp’s operation staff created some infringement of the rights of certain companies, contrary to our initial intention, so we immediately took corrective action.”

“At the request of Big Hit Music, The Camp restricts all operations of the combos under the name of Big Hit artists. As a result, The Camp’s combos under the name of the artists belonging to Big Hit will be forcibly closed on February 9,” it said.

BTS

Earlier, Big Hit Music, BTS’s agency, announced that it would take stern measures after confirming The Camp’s violation of BTS’s publicity rights by using portraits and names of BTS members without permission.

The Camp recently opened and operated an individual community for BTS members. The Camp Mall, a commerce channel of the app, used words such as “official” to sell packages using the real names of the members.

The Camp is a service that allows family members or acquaintances to send comforting letters to enlisted trainees through mobile apps and Internet sites.
