Megan Thee Stallion pulls out of AMAs collaboration stage with BTS, what is the reason?

Fans all over the world have been looking forward to the ‘Butter’ performance of BTS and Megan Thee Stallion, but the female rapper has shared disappointing news.

Recently on her Twitter, Megan Thee Stallion announced she would cancel the highly anticipated performance with BTS at the American Music Awards due to unexpected personal circumstances.

Previously, Megan Thee Stallion and BTS were confirmed to have a collaboration stage at AMAs with the remix version of Butter. The American female rapper was expected to perform the rap verse alongside the Kpop boy group. With Megan’s confirmed absence ahead of the event, BTS can now only perform the original version at the awards night.

Megan Thee Stallion is known to be close to BTS. She even “fought” with her own record label to be able to release a remixed version of BTS’s smash hit Butter. The success of the remix helped Butter climb back to No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, but due to the chart’s compositional grading system, Megan did not receive credit for the song ranking 1st place.

The 2021 American Music Awards will take place at 8pm EST on November 21 at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. Besides the performance of Butter, BTS will also have a collaboration stage with legendary boyband Coldplay of My Universe, the song that debuted at No.1 on Billboard Hot 100.
