MC Mong is terrorized by Chinese netizens after he uploaded a post regarding the short-track speed skating controversy

Singer MC Mong expressed his feelings on malicious comments from overseas Internet users.

MC Mong updated on his SNS on Feb 8th, saying, “Even if I get all kinds of criticism, I was born in our country Korea, and just by being born in this country and getting the chance to do music here, it’s an honor for me, and I live it as joy.” He then said, “As a man, I’m always guilty of not doing my big role, so I want to be a better person, and I try to help Korea in a more difficult situation.”

MC Mong, who claims he always accepts criticism, said, “How can I not cheer for my country? Just as you love your country, I love my country, and I will support and pay taxes and live here forever,” he confessed. MC Mong said he was stunned on SNS when Hwang Dae-heon and Lee Joon-seo were disqualified even after passing to the final as the first and second place in their group in the men’s short-track 1,000m semifinals at Beijing Capital Indoor Stadium on Feb 7th.

After that, a netizen contacted MC Mong through direct message. This person protested in English with abusive language, saying, “Yesterday I was your fan, but not since you posted that photo. I don’t know exactly what you want to express, but at this juncture, I think you just want to express your dissatisfaction with China! But why the f*** are you upset, dirty hands, and disqualified?”

MC Mong expressed, “If me supporting my country, protesting with my heart against unfair referees is disappointing for you, you don’t have to be my fan.” MC Mong added, “Even without gold, Korea still lives. We’re the champion,” he added, cheering for the players.

Meanwhile, MC Mong was embroiled in allegations in 2010 that he deliberately removed his teeth to avoid military service obligations. After years of trial, he was found not guilty.
