A decided to threaten B by recording a claim he made up himself about B’s private life. A claimed that “B has had a relationship with an acquaintance about a year ago”.

Later, A sent the recording to B’s family with a threatening message, saying “Did you listen to the content? I want to request a private interview”.

In the first trial, the court said, “The psychological pressure and fear that the victim and their family members, who are widely known to the public, felt must have been unimaginably severe”, adding “Although the victim has not forgiven the defendant, the court decided on this sentence considering factors, such as the defendant acknowledging their responsibility”.

A filed an appeal, saying the sentence was too severe. The appellate court rejected that request, saying the judgment of the first court did not exceed the reasonable range of discretion.
