In 2018, Kwon Kwangjin was embroiled in controversy for dating a fan and allegedly harassing her at a fan signing event. In response, his agency, FNC Entertainment, made the decision to kick him out of the group. During the period of self-reflection, it was revealed that Kwon Kwangjin’s relationship with the fan was indeed true, leading to the termination of his contract with FNC.

However, he vehemently denied the harassment allegations. Subsequently, Kwon Kwangjin sued those who spread false information and engaged in malicious online comments, resulting in a guilty verdict in a civil case.

In a recent YouTube appearance, Kwon Kwangjin explained, “I was dating a fan because I found her pretty. I lied as a defense mechanism because we were not allowed to date. However, when it was revealed that we were dating, there were rumors of absurd harassment attached to it. I think the company couldn’t handle it.”

He continued, “The harassment controversy was created by another fan. The person who wrote the internet rumor was my wife’s close friend. She was also a fan, so when she saw my wife and me dating, she seemed to become jealous. She spread unbelievable rumors. I was shocked, so I filed a lawsuit.”

He also mentioned FNC artists, N.Flying and CNBLUE, saying, “They didn’t come to my wedding, didn’t give a congratulatory gift. We lost contact. I tried contacting Jung Yonghwa, but there was no response. I texted him, but he didn’t read it. Currently, I haven’t been in contact with any of the members. It’s my fault for leaving the team, and I feel sorry.”

Regarding FNC Entertainment’s settlement issue, Kwon Kwangjin confessed, “I didn’t receive any money before the settlement. I was expelled, so there is no severance pay, and when I called the Ministry of Employment and Labor, they told me I couldn’t even apply for unemployment benefits. I don’t want to be involved with (FNC) anymore.”
