The teaser posters of “The Roundup: Punishment”, released along with the news of its domestic release on April 24th, showcase the overwhelming presence of the monster detective Ma Seok-do (played by Ma Dong-seok) and the newly introduced fourth-generation villain Baek Chang-ki (played by Kim Mu-yeol). As the story revolves around tackling online crimes without borders or boundaries, the contrasting attire of the two characters also captures attention.

The thick leather jacket worn by the monster detective Ma Seok-do as he runs around Korea to uproot criminals, juxtaposed with the thin attire of the villain Baek Chang-ki, raises curiosity. This hints at the scale of crime involving Baek Chang-ki, a former mercenary moving between the Philippines and Korea, and his involvement in a large-scale illegal online gambling organization, while also foreshadowing Ma Seok-do’s upgraded investigation to eradicate massive cross-border crimes.

Furthermore, the slogan “Wiping Them All Out”, announcing the comeback of the “Crime City” series, excites fans. The powerful gaze of Ma Seok-do and Baek Chang-ki, combined with this slogan, provides a dual expression in “The Roundup: Punishment”, adding to the excitement. It implies that Ma Seok-do will wipe out the bad guys and crimes, while Baek Chang-ki will wipe out anything that stands in his way.

It stars Ma Dong-seok, Kim Mu-yeol, Park Ji-hwan and Lee Dong-hwi, with direction by Heo Myung-haeng, who previously worked as the martial arts director for “The Roundup”.
