Ma Dong Seok, the lead actor of last year’s biggest blockbuster “The Roundup”, will attend the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards with Park Ji Hwan and director Lee Sang Yong.
On April 27th, Ma Dong Seok’s agency Big Punch Entertainment announced that Ma Dong Seok will attend the Baeksang Arts Awards. Ma Dong Seok was nominated for the Best Actor award.
Ma Dong Seok took charge of planning, producing and starring in last year’s biggest blockbuster “The Roundup”, which attracted 12.69 million viewers. Ma Dong Seok will attend the awards ceremony as a producer and actor of “The Roundup”. Director Lee Sang Yong, who was in charge of directing the film, and Park Ji Hwan, who emerged as a trending star thanks to the role of Jang Yi Soo, became candidates for Best New Director and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.
Ma Dong Seok and director Lee Sang Yong also worked together in “The Roundup: No Way Out”. In “The Roundup: No Way Out”, detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) joins the Metropolitan Investigation Team to eradicate Japanese gangsters from committing heinous crimes in Korea. Ma Dong Seok will continue to lead the film by planning, producing and starring. “The Roundup: No Way Out” will show more impressive boxing action scenes and Ma Seok Do’s advanced investigative techniques. “The Roundup: No Way Out” has been confirmed to be released on May 31st.
The Baeksang Arts Awards will be held on Friday, April 28th at Incheon Paradise City, Incheon.
