LOONA Vivi and Hyun Jin reportedly filed an injunction to terminate contracts with a high chance of winning
LOONA members have all started their legal battle against Blockberry Creative.
According to a report by JTBC Entertainment News on February 3rd, LOONA Vivi and Hyun Jin already filed an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with BlockberryCreative following the other 9 members (Hee Jin, Ha Seul, Yeo Jin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Go Won and Olivia Hye).
It has been confirmed that Vivi and Hyun Jin are likely to win this lawsuit because their contract terms are similar to that of Hee Jin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry, who previously succeeded in terminating contracts with LOONA’s agency. The result of Vivi and Hyun Jin’s case will be announced soon.
If Vivi and Hyun Jin win the suit, Ha Seul, Yeo Jin, Yves, Go Won and Olivia Hye will be the only members who get stuck in Blockberry Creative as they agreed to the supplementary agreement that the agency proposed to LOONA members at the end of 2021.
However, as Blockberry Creative recently submitted a petition to the Korea Entertainment Management Association and the Korea Entertainer Producer Association demanding a ban on the entertainment activities of Chuu, who was already expelled from LOONA, 6 members, Hee Jin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Vivi and Hyun Jin are expected to continue a long fight in order to freely carry out their individual schedules without restrictions from their former agency.
Blockberry Creative sparked controversy when its internal management problem was reported in 2021. In that process, Chuu, who was the most active member of LOONA at that time, disagreed with the agency’s settlement issue so she submitted an injunction to suspend the validity of her exclusive contract. After winning some parts of the suit, Chuu freely proceeded with her personal activities without being restricted by her agency.
Chuu also joined group schedules but her conflict with Blockberry Creative intensified and she was eventually expelled from LOONA. Amid the controversy over Chuu’s forced withdrawal, 9 LOONA members, excluding Vivi and Hyun Jin, also sued the agency to suspend their exclusive contracts. In the end, the court ruled in favor of Hee Jin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. Ha Seul, Yeo Jin, Yves, Go Won and Olivia Hye lost because the terms of their contracts were partially changed before the lawsuit.
