Ukrainian Ambassador to South Korea Dmytro Ponomarenko posted about Lee Young-ae‘s donation news and her letter on his SNS on March 1, saying, “I was touched by the letter and financial support of famous Korean actress Lee Young-ae to Ukraine, and her wish for the war to end as soon as possible.”
“The donation will be used for victims of Russian attacks,” said Ambassador Dmitro Ponomarenko.
In the letter, Lee Young-ae delivered a message containing her thoughts along with a check of 100 million won.
Lee Young-ae said, “As a family of veterans who have gone through a war, I feel the horrors of the war more deeply than anyone else,” and added, “I sincerely wish that the war will stop and peace will be established in Ukraine.”
