lee yoo bi extreme diet story

On May 11, Lee Yoo Bi uploaded a new vlog titled “Pausing Everyday Life for a Moment, in Bali — All-Inclusive Resort Vlog” on her YouTube channel.

During her Bali trip, the actress spent time answering fans’ questions while enjoying breakfast at her hotel. She revealed, “I don’t want to go back to my twenties,” adding, “I actually want to reach my forties and fifties faster. As time passes, I feel more emotionally stable.”

She also candidly talked about one of the questions she receives most often — how she manages facial swelling. Lee Yoo Bi explained, “The reason I constantly check for swelling is because it became a habit starting in my twenties,” before confessing, “Back then, just seeing my face appear on screen was incredibly stressful.”

The actress then opened up about the extreme pressure she faced regarding her weight during that period.

“At the time, I weighed around 42kg, but people still told me to lose more weight because my face looked round on camera,” she revealed.

Lee Yoo Bi recalled a particularly memorable moment from filming. “The next day, there was a scene where my arms were exposed, and one of the staff members actually apologized to me after seeing how thin I was. They told me to never lose more weight,” she shared.

The actress also addressed the current “bone-thin” beauty trend that has become increasingly popular online. “These days, it feels like everyone is chasing that extremely skinny look,” she said. “Ironically, my body from back then would probably fit today’s trend better, but personally, I don’t think it looked good.”

She continued by sharing her current thoughts on health and beauty, saying, “I think looking slightly fuller like I do now looks much healthier and prettier. As long as you’re healthy, that’s what matters most.”

Lee Yoo Bi also offered heartfelt advice to viewers struggling with body image and dieting pressure.

“If you push yourself too hard trying to lose weight and damage your body, it’s difficult to recover later,” she explained. “When you let go of those obsessions a little, you become happier. And when you’re happy, you naturally become prettier too. I hope people won’t become overly obsessed with dieting.”
