Actor Lee Soon Jae (89), who has debuted for 66 years, expressed his own pride.
Lee Soon Jae appeared on the April 30th broadcast of TV Chosun’s “Star Documentary My Way”.
He had a conversation with actors Shin Goo, Park Jung Ja and Kim Seong Nyeo. All of them are veteran actors with more than 240 years of acting experience.
Lee Soon Jae said, “When I was young, even during my newlywed days, I slept at home less than 5 times a month. I filmed for 20 hours per day. I signed contracts with 5~6 films at once. I even filmed 4 films a day by dividing them into quarters.“
He added, “But I don’t have any buildings.” He indirectly mentioned the situation in which actors become building owners after having a successful work.
Kim Seong Nyeo wondered, “You’ve been filming all your life. Where did all the money go?” Lee Soon Jae replied, “We’re people who have nothing to do with money. What does an artist have to do with money? Where is the painter who paints for a few pennies? We just do it. We can do it for free if the work is good.“
