Singer-actor Lee Seung Gi, who recently announced a new beginning at his one-man agency Human Made, revealed his current situation.
On December 30th, 2022, Human Made said on its official SNS account, “We are very happy to tell you the news of a new beginning”, adding “Human Made will provide full support to Lee Seung Gi’s new start.”
Lee Seung Gi left Hook Entertainment (Hook), which had accompanied him since his debut, and established the one-man agency Human Made in May last year. However, he renewed his contract with Hook shortly after then.
Last month, controversies arose when Lee Seung Gi claimed that he had not received any settlements for his music activities from Hook ever since his debut. Since then, he has carried out his activities under Human Made amid the conflict.
Despite the music revenue settlement controversy, Lee Seung Gi won Daesang at a year-end award ceremony. At the 2022 KBS Drama Awards, when MC Jeon Hyun Moo asked about his plan for 2023, Lee Seung Gi said, “I have plans for my activities and the ongoing dispute”, adding “I think I can greet viewers with the movie ‘Large Family’. I will also meet you all through variety shows as I always do”, receiving a warm round of applause.
On December 1st, Human Made released a photo of Lee Seung Gi holding the Daesang trophy at the 2022 KBS Drama Awards. In its caption, Human Made said, “Thanks to all those who supported Lee Seung Gi to win the Grand Prize in 2022 KBS Drama Awards”, adding “We wish you all be happier and healthier in 2023, and hope you will continue to support and have expectations for the future activities of our artist Lee Seung Gi”.
A day later, the agency released several behind-the-scenes cuts of Lee Seung Gi at the awards ceremony. The pictures show Lee Seung Gi sitting in a car and staring into the air, creating a noir-like scene.
In particular, Lee Seung Gi caught the eyes of netizens with his shaved head in all the photos. It is known that shaved his hair to portray the role of a chief monk in the movie “Large Family”.
