On the November 28 broadcast of SBS’s My Grumpy Secretary, Lee Seo-jin and fellow actor Kim Kwang-gyu served as daily managers for the members of ALLDAY PROJECT.
During the show, Lee Seo-jin shared his long-standing relationship with ALLDAY PROJECT Annie’s family, particularly her parents, Chung Yoo-kyung, chairwoman of Shinsegae, and Moon Sung-wook, CEO of Shinsegae Live Shopping. Lee Seo-jin stated, “I’ve known Annie’s family even before she was born,” surprising viewers.
Recalling the incident that caused the scar, Lee Seo-jin explained, “Annie’s mother was away on a business trip. While drinking with her father, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, he asked me, ‘Why does your face look like this?’ Blood was coming from my face.”
He added, “Annie was there too. She said, ‘Oh, there’s blood,’” highlighting how even Annie witnessed the accident firsthand.
Annie herself confirmed the story, telling fellow member Woo-chan, “Lee Seo-jin got the scar because he fell asleep on our sofa at our house.”
The show also delved into Lee Seo-jin’s longstanding friendship with Annie’s family. He noted, “I first met Annie’s father when I was in college and he was in high school. I knew her mother even earlier, from when I was in elementary school.”

He expressed his gratitude to Moon Sung-wook, mentioning, “He’s knowledgeable and interesting. He even gave me the same guitar as my favorite guitarist, saying, ‘Since you like this guitar, take it.’ That’s how I learned guitar.”
Annie, the eldest daughter of Chung Yoo-kyung and granddaughter of Shinsegae Group’s late honorary chairwoman Lee Myung-hee, had been in the spotlight even before her debut.
Lee Seo-jin comes from a distinguished family background. His grandfather, the late Lee Bo-hyung, graduated from Keijo Law School during the Japanese colonial era, serving as president of Seoul Bank and Cheil Bank, and was connected by marriage to the founder of LG, the late Koo In-hwoi. His late father, Lee Jae-eung, was the CEO of Anheung Credit Union.

Before pursuing acting, Lee Seo-jin studied business at New York University and worked as an executive at the alternative investment firm Ask Veritas Asset Management.
While the program also touched on Moon Sung-wook’s achievements—graduating from the University of Chicago and Wharton School, joining Shinsegae in 2005, and discovering key startups such as Lael, Bungae Jangter, and Peaches—it highlighted Lee Seo-jin’s long-standing personal connection with the family.
