On November 28, SBS’s show “Too Tough for My Manager, Bi Seo-jin” released a preview clip titled “I’ve Known You Since Elementary School! Lee Seo-jin’s Unexpected Bond with Annie Before She Was Born”. In the segment, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu took on the role of one-day managers for the mixed group ALLDAY PROJECT, helping guide the members through their daily routines.
When Annie met Lee Seo-jin, she joked, “Doesn’t Jerry (Lee Seo-jin) have a scar on his face? He got it falling off our sofa at home.” Lee Seo-jin laughed and recalled, “Annie’s mom was away on a business trip. Her dad and I were drinking together and he fell asleep on the sofa. In the morning, he asked, ‘Why is your face like this?’ I had blood on my face. Seoyoon was also there,” referencing Annie’s real name.
When asked if he had been friends with Annie’s father since childhood, Lee Seo-jin explained, “I was a college student when Annie’s dad was in high school. I’ve known Annie’s mom since elementary school.” He confirmed, “Yes, I’ve known them since before Annie was born,” impressing the ALLDAY PROJECT members.
Lee Seo-jin praised Annie’s father further, saying, “He’s always been bright and curious about many things. He even plays guitar and once gave me a guitar from a guitarist I admire. Talking with him is always fun; he knows so much.”
Prevously, ALLDAY PROJECT’s Annie, eldest daughter of Shinsegae President Chung Yoo-kyung, has also revealed a long-standing personal connection to actor Lee Seo-jin.
On a recent broadcast of the YouTube channel “Channel 15ya”, the ALLDAY PROJECT members appeared for a live stream hosted by famed producer Na Young-seok. During the broadcast, Na PD casually mentioned, “I heard you were filming ‘My Grumpy Secretary.’ You’ve known Seo-jin since you were little, right?” He then jokingly added, “Honestly, he’s someone you don’t need to know.”
To this, Annie confirmed, “Yes, Seo-jin uncle has been close friends with my parents since high school, even before he debuted as an actor.”
Na PD backed her up, saying, “I’ve heard that too, since I work with Lee Seo-jin a lot. So how was the filming of ‘My Grumpy Secretary’?” The members chimed in enthusiastically, describing it as “super fun” and “a very relaxed shoot.”
Na PD appeared surprised, noting, “He’s not someone who usually does managerial work. Did he do well?” While the members held back to avoid spoilers, they responded, “He was perfect for it. He made us feel so supported.”

A graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, Lee Seo-jin is widely recognized for his elite family background in the financial world. His grandfather held positions as president of both Seoul Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, and his father was the head of a credit union. Lee Seo-jin himself worked as an executive director at an asset management company, making the family a generational powerhouse in Korean finance.
