Actor Lee Jong Suk was honored with Daesang at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards.
At the 2022 MBC Drama Awards held at MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam, Seoul on December 30th, “Big Mouth” Lee Jong Suk was announced as Daesang (Grand Prize) winner.
“Big Mouth”, which tells the story of an underperforming lawyer who gets caught up in a murder case, also received Drama of the Year. Lee Jong Suk played the main character Park Chang Ho in this work and proved his wide acting spectrum.
Thanks to Lee Jong Suk’s passionate acting performance, “Big Mouth” ended with the highest viewer rating peak of 13.7% (according to Nielsen Korea) and was selected as MBC’s best hit in 2022.
6 years after his first Daesang with “W” in 2016, Lee Jong Suk once again held the Daesang trophy in his hands at the MBC Drama Awards.
Other actors who have received MBC Drama Awards Daesang twice are Go Doo Shim, Kim Hee Ae, and Chae Shi Ra. Actress Kim Hye Ja is owning the best record with three Daesangs in 1988, 1992, and 1999.
No male actor had won Daesang twice at the MBC Drama Awards, and Lee Jong Suk became the first person to do so.
Apart from Daesang, Lee Jong Suk also received Best Couple Award with his “Big Mouth” co-star Im Yoon Ah, actress and Girl’s Generation member.
