South Korean actor Lee Jae Ryong is facing police investigation following an alleged drunk driving incident in which he reportedly crashed into a road barrier and fled the scene.
According to reports released by entertainment outlet Dispatch, the accident occurred around 11:03 p.m. on March 6 near the intersection close to Cheongdam Station in Seoul.
After making a right turn at the intersection, Lee’s vehicle reportedly collided with the central guardrail of a six-lane road. Instead of stopping, the actor allegedly continued driving, dragging and damaging the guardrail for more than 10 meters before leaving the scene.

Witness footage from the site reportedly shows debris from the damaged barrier scattered around the roadway.
Authorities later located Lee approximately three hours after the accident at a friend’s house. When police conducted a test, his blood alcohol concentration was reportedly at a level that could lead to license suspension.
Initially, Lee allegedly denied drinking at the time of the accident, claiming he had not consumed alcohol before the crash.

Police are now preparing to book him on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act. Investigators also plan to analyze CCTV footage and apply the Widmark formula to estimate his blood alcohol level at the time of the incident.
The case has drawn additional attention because Lee has previously been involved in alcohol-related controversies. In 2003, his driver’s license was revoked after he refused a breathalyzer test following a drunk driving accident. He was also involved in another alcohol-related incident in 2019, when he damaged a signboard outside a bowling alley while intoxicated.
Police are expected to summon Lee for further questioning as the investigation continues.
