On KBS 2TV’s music talk show ‘The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet’ (‘Red Carpet’) aired on Jan 12th, Younha made an appearance.
Last year, Younha’s ‘Event Horizon’ became a hit. Younha expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m thankful. It feels burdensome as it’s a song that measures vocal ability, but it’s gratifying.”
Younha, suffering from laryngitis due to a cold, said, “I was quite scared, but now I sang the song with the magic injection and medicine.” In response, Lee Hyori joked, “Vocalists with good skills face such difficulties. We always have back pain and knee pain. I’ve never had laryngitis; it feels a bit envious, like, ‘Oh, you can get laryngitis.'”
Continuing, she said, “I’m also currently taking vocal lessons. I’ll challenge Younha’s ‘Event Horizon’ later, until the day I get laryngitis. Let’s meet at the top later.”
Recalling the meeting with Younha, Lee Hyori shared, “In 2008, during ‘U-Go-Girl’ activities, I encountered her in the restroom. I was washing my hair with soap at the sink. She grew up watching Fin.K.L. and told me, ‘Wow! Senior, you’re amazing,’ while I was washing my hair. It’s a vivid memory, and it was so cool.”
Talking about Younha starting to learn electric guitar, Lee Hyori commented, “There’s a charm to playing the electric guitar, especially when a woman plays it. My husband plays the guitar, and there’s a different feeling when he plays the acoustic guitar compared to the electric guitar. When playing the acoustic guitar, he seems like a neighbor or a church brother, but when playing the electric guitar, there’s a sexy charm.”
