Singer Lee Hyo Ri honestly confessed the real reason she decided to do commercial advertising again
On September 4th, the YouTube channel “Salty bro Shin Dong Yup” uploaded a new video titled “The first ‘salty’ guest Lee Hyo Ri, why did you hate me back then?”
Guesting in the first episode, Lee Hyo Ri showed her support for Shin Dong Yup and boasted about their special friendship.
Earlier in 2012, Lee Hyo Ri announced that she would refrain from doing commercial advertisements. After her entertainment program “Hyori’s Homestay” became popular, she received various CF and PPL proposals but the female singer reportedly refused them all. As Lee Hyo Ri recently said she wanted to do advertisements again after 11 years, the advertising industry is getting excited. In particular, numerous companies have been sending love calls to Lee Hyo Ri by leaving comments on Lee Hyo Ri’s SNS account, proving her outstanding impact.
On the show, Shin Dong Yup asked, “Didn’t you say you would not do commercial advertisements?”. Lee Hyo Ri smiled and said, “I had my own philosophy at that time. I think those thoughts have changed now”.
She continued, “We should be very careful with what we say. I’ve realized many things these days. I did say I would do commercial advertisements again, but I keep changing my mind. However, once a celebrity says something, they would get stuck at it?”.
“Didn’t I join Antenna?”, Lee Hyo Ri then mentioned her new agency and added, “I want to use the dance crew HolyBang, work with expensive composers, and spend hundreds of millions of dollars on music videos like I used to do in the past. But I felt very sorry to ask the company for them all”.
She shared, “However, there is something the fans want to see and something I want to show them, right? In that case, I felt regretful. ‘Why did I say I would not do commercial advertisements?’, I asked myself. Now I want to earn a lot so that I can spend and donate more.”
Revealing that she has been receiving numerous love calls after announcing her return to the advertising industry, Lee Hyo Ri confessed, “Fortunately, many advertisers reached out to me and I’m very thankful for that. There are too many offers that could fill 3-4 sheets of A4 paper.” She added, “I wonder why many people still find me even though I tend to do whatever I want. I think I’m very lucky. I really appreciate them.”
