“Single in Seoul” tells the story that takes place when power influencer Young-ho (Lee Dong-wook), who likes to be alone, and editor Hyun-jin (Lim Soo-jung) of a publishing company, who hates to be alone, publish a book about single life.

The speed of the two’s emotions in this film is neither slow nor fast. At the press conference, Lee Dong-wook and Lim Soo-jung express the love of two people as they gradually get closer, a love that can be related in reality.

Young-ho and Hyun-jin meet as writer and editor, but in fact, they first knew each other as senior and junior. However, the film focuses more on the present emotions of the two, rather than their past stories. In this regard, director Park said, “It was intended to raise curiosity. Memories from the past can become blurry. It’s a good idea to show decisive events, but I directed it in a way that shows how the two characters have changed after something happened in the past without revealing it”.

Pointing out the point he sympathizes with, Lee Dong-wook said, “In a relationship, I don’t remember clearly how we met, how we broke up, what day we broke up, and what kind of conversation we had”.

The actor continued, “We broke up for some reason, and we met for some special feelings. I think we all live with blurry memories in that way. Young-ho also feels the same”, revealing his experience. He added, “I think we all have such memories of a past love”.

Lim Soo-jung emphasized that the pace of the romance is not exaggerated. She said, “Two people come together to work and get to know each other. I think the process of opening up our hearts is not dramatically portrayed. I think that’s more natural. Sometimes, love at first sight can happen, but there’s a process in which you don’t realize that you are attracted to the other person”, adding “I like how these two characters open their hearts little by little in this movie”.

Meanwhile, “Single in Seoul” will premiere on November 29th.
