On March 15th, JTBC released a teaser poster for the new drama in the Wednesday-Thursday time slot, which is called “The Good Bad Mother” (directed by Shim Na Yeon, scripted by Bae Se Young, produced by Drama House Studio, SLL, Film Monster).
“The Good Bad Mother” is a touching comedy drama in which a mother, Young Soon (Ra Mi Ran), has no choice but to live as a bad mother to her son Kang Ho (Lee Do Hyun) in order for him to succeed.
Kang Ho, who was on his way to be a successful prosecutor, however, suffered from an accident that drives him back to his hometown, where a romance is waiting to bloom and relationship waiting to be rekindled.
In the teaser poster, Ra Mi Ran and Lee Do Hyun attract attention at the contrasting expressions that convey the mood of the poster. Ra Mi Ran and Lee Do Hyun are standing in front of a pig barn as if posing for a photoshoot, with Do Hyun holding a bouquet in an emotionless expression. At the same time, Ra Mi Ran appears somewhat pretentious in her smile and gentle caress on Do Hyun’s arm and back.
In addition, the poster contains a phrase that reads, “All mothers in the world are bad,” standing in stark opposition to the warm tone and bright image of the poster.
Recently, Lee Do Hyun has reached a peak in his career as Joo Yeo Jeong in Netflix’s “The Glory,” a plastic surgeon who helps Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) on her journey to take revenge against her highschool tormentors. After the drama series wrapped up, Lee Do Hyun received favorable reviews for being able to portray a three-dimensional character with a range of diverse emotions. Yeo Jeong suffers from the traumatic experience of his father’s murder and the guilt of losing him to a psychopath patient.
The production team of “The Good Bad Mother” said, “The story will give a pleasant and warm impression,” adding, “We believe we can properly appreciate the true value of Ra Mi Ran and Lee Do Hyun [as actors through their] extraordinary acting skills.”
JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Good Bad Mother” will premiere on April 26th at 10:30 p.m. (KST) with a total of 14 episodes.
