Kris Wu, the disgraced Chinese-Canadian pop star serving a 13-year prison sentence for rape and organizing group sex, is once again making headlines—this time for legal and financial troubles involving his former management company.
According to Chinese media outlet Dahebao, the Zhongshan Second People’s Court initiated enforcement proceedings against Wu’s company, Beijing Fanshi Culture Media Co., Ltd., on September 1, demanding the payment of ¥38,563 RMB (approximately NT$173,533 or USD $5,400) in litigation costs related to a contractual dispute.

The company had been designated a “discredited entity” (失信被执行人) after repeatedly failing to comply with court rulings. As a result, authorities issued a compulsory enforcement order.
In a related move, Kris Wu’s cousin Wu Lin, who serves as the company’s legal representative, was hit with a consumption restriction order. The ban prohibits him from engaging in high-cost activities such as flying first class, traveling by high-speed rail in premium cabins, staying in luxury hotels, or purchasing real estate.

Though Wu has been incarcerated since 2021, his name continues to circulate online. Rumors of his alleged death in prison recently went viral but were unconfirmed. Meanwhile, his family has also come under legal scrutiny. His mother and cousin were reportedly investigated for money laundering and tax evasion, with his mother even facing temporary detention, effectively cutting off all family visitation.
Kris Wu, formerly a top idol in both China and Korea and a former EXO member, was convicted of raping three intoxicated women and organizing group sex parties. The 2021 scandal shocked the entertainment industry and ended his career overnight.
