Korean dramas got accused of plagiarizing Chinese ones: Kim So Hyun was exactly like Zhao Liying… What is the truth?

Korean films have been repeatedly accused of plagiarizing Chinese ones.

1. Kim So Hyun (River Where the Moon Rises)

In addition to the controversy surrounding the male lead Ji Soo, “River Where the Moon Rises” was also accused of plagiarizing costumes from Chinese dramas. Aside from comparing real costumes in the history of the two countries, Chinese viewers used Zhao Liying’s image in “Princess Agents” to compare and point out that Kim So Hyun‘s armor was problematic.

2. Kwon Nara (Secret Royal Inspector)

Unlike Kim So Hyun’s case, Kwon Nara had a problem with her hair in “Secret Royal Inspector“. Specifically, many viewers pointed out that her hairstyle in the drama was inspired by Chinese historical films. Viewers even stated the difference between Chinese and Korean hairstyles in feudal times to claim that Kwon Nara’s figure was just a copy, no more and no less.

3. Kang Han Na (Moon Lovers)

In “Moon Lovers“, there was a scene in which Kang Han Na allegedly wore a costume that did not match Korean history. In particular, this was the scene where her character held a wedding ceremony. Her phoenix robe and headdress in this segment were believed to plagiarize Chinese dramas.
