In one of the most elegant and buzzed-about weddings of the year, Jung Da-hye, a Korean-born, U.S.-Canada-raised creative, officially tied the knot with Sean Taffin de Givenchy, the heir to the iconic Givenchy fashion dynasty, in a three-day extravaganza held in Paris from August 28 to 30.

The couple, both in their late 20s, first met in 2018 during their student days at McGill University in Canada. Although they weren’t classmates, a chance encounter at a freshman welcome party sparked a romance that would eventually lead to this dazzling union.

They initially held a private courthouse wedding in New York in February last year. “New York represents diversity and belonging. The moment I arrived from Seoul, I felt at home,” Jung shared in an interview with Over the Moon. For this intimate occasion, she wore a simple white dress bought in SoHo, paired with a Givenchy mini Kenny bag—a subtle nod to her future family.

Their Paris wedding was nothing short of spectacular. The festivities began with a rehearsal dinner at the Michelin-starred La Fontaine Gaillon, where Jung wore a Victoria Beckham dress layered with a classic ivory coat from Korean brand Kimhekim. “I’ve loved this piece for years—its pearls and timeless cut spoke to me,” she said.

The main ceremony was held at the historic Basilique Sainte-Clotilde, a nod to their shared Catholic faith and family heritage. Jung stunned in a custom-made off-the-shoulder silk gown with a dramatic puff-sleeved cape designed by Korean-American designer Andrew Kwon. The two connected serendipitously at a wedding event and bonded over their shared Asian heritage. Kwon reportedly spent 18 months perfecting the couture piece after Jung visited over ten bridal ateliers in Manhattan.

“It was a dream wedding—timeless, classic, with Parisian elegance. I created over 100 mood boards, and the planner brought them all to life,” Jung wrote on Instagram.

Sean is the son of Hubert Taffin de Givenchy and the nephew of Hubert de Givenchy, the founder of the Givenchy brand established in 1952. Though the brand has belonged to luxury conglomerate LVMH since 1988, the Givenchy family remains tightly woven into the fashion world’s fabric.
