A Thai woman living in South Korea has asked for help after allegedly being brutally assaulted by her South Korean boyfriend, leaving her with severe facial burns.
The victim, who has been hospitalized for treatment, shared her situation on December 3 in a Facebook group for Thai residents in Korea, hoping to connect with a volunteer interpreter who could assist her in communicating with the police.

A Thai interpreter has since stepped in, helping her file a case by translating her statements and offering support throughout the legal process.
According to a friend of the victim, who posted details of the incident online, the assault occurred while the woman was asleep. Her boyfriend allegedly confessed afterward that he acted out of jealousy. Believing she might leave him for other men, he reportedly poured boiling water onto her face in an attempt to disfigure her.

After the attack, the man reportedly apologized repeatedly, begged for forgiveness, and pleaded with her not to end the relationship. He also offered to take her to the hospital. The woman, despite being terrified and furious, agreed to let him bring her for treatment because she did not have enough money to cover the medical expenses on her own, her friend explained.

The victim has made it clear that she does not want any further personal contact with her ex-boyfriend. She has asked that all communication be handled solely through the authorities, including the police or her lawyer.
The case has drawn increasing attention online, as photos of the woman’s injuries circulate with messages stressing the need for justice and protection for foreign women in South Korea.
