Actress Kim Tae Ri is considering appearing in the webtoon-based drama “Jeong Nyeon”.
On Nov 16th, Kim Tae Ri‘s agency Management mmm announced, “Kim Tae Ri was offered a role in ‘Jeong Nyeon’. It is one of the works currently under consideration.“
“Jeong Nyeon” is a drama remake of the popular webtoon of the same name (author Seo Irae, artist Namon). Set in 1956, it is a period drama revolving around Yoon Jeong Nyeon, who has no money or education but a talent for singing. Her dream is to join a women’s traditional theater company and make it big. Kim Tae Ri was offered this role.
Author Seo Irae said earlier that she completed the character by recalling Kim Tae Ri from the movie “The Handmaiden”. As Kim Tae Ri is the actual muse of the original webtoon, expectations are high that her appearance will be confirmed.
Regarding the news that Kim Tae Ri received a casting offer for “Jeong Nyeon” and is considering it, fans of the original work showed reactions such as “It’s great“, “If the synchronization is this high, the original author would be very happy” and “I’ll definitely watch this.“
Meanwhile, Kim Tae Ri will return to the small screen first with SBS’ new drama “The Demon”, which is scheduled to air next year.
“The Demon” is an occult mystery thriller in which a woman possessed by evil spirits and a man who can see evil spirits dig into mysterious deaths surrounding five different bodies in another world with evil spirits when the door is opened.
