“Kim Tae-hee’s husband” Rain contemplates retirement “Is it time to start wrapping things up?”

In a video uploaded on YouTube on March 28th, Rain opened up about his thoughts on retirement.

He confessed, “Lately, I’ve been thinking about this. Am I still in progress? Or is it time for me to start wrapping things up? Although I’m grateful for being in the entertainment industry, I wonder if I’m doing as well as I should be.“

He continued, “Sometimes I think, ‘There are plenty of other people to watch, so do I really need to keep working?’ It’s a pointless thought.”

When the production team compared him to former soccer player Park Ji-sung, saying “Park Ji-sung is unable to play soccer now. It is said that he damaged his knee cartilage during his prime“, Rain empathetically responded, “Yes, that’s right. It’s because of the bad knee cartilage.“

Regarding the suggestion to continue working like senior singer J. Y. Park, he shook his head and said, “I don’t think I can beat his passion.“

Rain debuted with his first full-length album “N001” in 2002. From his debut song “Bad Guy” to hits like “Instead of Saying Goodbye”, “How to Run From the Sun”, “It’s Raining”, “I Do”, “Rainism” and “Love Song”, he received much love. Since 2003, he has also been active as an actor, appearing in dramas such as “Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School” and “Full House”.

He married actress Kim Tae-hee in 2017 and they have two daughters.
