On March 26th, a video titled “Couch Talk with Kim Soo-hyun & Kim Ji-won” was uploaded on the channel “Netflix K-Content”. In the video, tvN Saturday-Sunday drama “Queen of Tears” actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won introduced the drama.

Kim Ji-won explained the reason for choosing “Queen of Tears”, “When I first read the script, I had so many questions. As I kept reading on, what started out as curiosity eventually turned into affection for the story.

Kim Soo-hyun said, “The tears shed on the show are all varied and different. You’ll be able to feel the emotions of all characters, not just Hyun-woo and Hae-in.”

About the most emotional actor, Kim Ji-won shared, “It has to be Park Sung-hoon. I came across him on set one day, and noticed he was teary-eyed. So I asked him if he had just shot a sad scene, but he said he hadn’t. Instead, he told me he had watched a touching film the day before.”

Kim Ji-won also mentioned Kim Soo-hyun, “He could be joking around and laughing, then instantly cry once the director says ‘Action’.

Kim Soo-hyun confessed, “From my experience, tears are a limited resource. If you use up too much early on, you could run out later. You also need time to recharge. I do think my capacity for crying improved while filming ‘Queen of Tears’.”

Kim Ji-won agreed, saying, “There’s a finite amount of tears you can shed in a day. So when I cry a lot early on, I find myself maintaining my emotions but not able to cry as much later on.”

“Queen of Tears” depicts the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage.
